Emergency Medicine came and went. I hate to admit it, but I am going to miss it a LOT. I'm not sure how ethical it is for me to barge into the next group's allocated week but..we'll see how it goes. Hehe
No, it has nothing to do with a certain "quadrilingual" Dr. <3<3>
Stats: (mostly done in the span of 4 days as the first 3 days I was pretty much lost hehe, yeah I'm a slow starter)
- 7 IV cannulas. 2 failed. All of them winced in pain. Not a good sign.
- 3 venepunctures (excluding those taken via the cannulas)
- Sutured 2 patients
- 6 IM injections including my first gluteal injection on a very very shy young lady.
- Many many ECGs. I seem to have forgotten how to interpret an ECG. Shit.
- Played suturing assistant to the very intimidating Vascular surgeon trainee.
Still not done:
- Subcutaenous injections
- CBD (missed 2 golden opportunities. I'm just not ready yet. SIGH)
- DRE
All in all, I'd say it was a fruitful week. Dr P I am going to miss you soooooo!
